To be ready for GTA 6 on November 19, 2026: choose an edition, pre-order digitally, free up storage, and let it pre-load from November 12. Here’s the full checklist. Tick items off as you go; your progress is saved on this device.

The checklist

  • Pick your edition. Standard ($79.99) or Ultimate ($99.99). Not sure? See Standard vs Ultimate.
  • Pre-order before launch to get the Vintage Vice City Pack. Details in our pre-order post.
  • Buy digital, or redeem your box code early. Boxed copies are reported to contain a code, not a disc.
  • Free up storage. The download size isn’t confirmed yet, so leave plenty of space.
  • Turn on rest mode downloads so the pre-load runs overnight. Steps in the pre-load guide.
  • Update your console in the days before launch so a system update doesn’t hold you up at midnight.
  • Check your unlock time. Store listings point to midnight local time on November 19. See unlock time by region.

Nice to have

  • Bookmark our cheats page. Verified cheats go up after launch.
